Tulips are in their peak come springtime, and choices range from over 500 varieties and colors!  Be sure to choose tightly budded stems for your arrangements as they begin to open once you put them into a warm, centrally-heated building.

#2: Daisies

Gerbera daisies are available in a wide variety of colors and can be purchased year-round; they are wonderful on their own - or a lovely addition to other seasonally available flowers.

#3: Peonies

Peonies are a gorgeous choice if you’re looking for something a little different while still staying in the realm of tradition. The main thing to remember when looking at this bloom is to let your florist know if you want the stems to be in bud, fully open, or a mixture of both, as that choice will completely change the look of your bouquet.

#4: Lilacs

This delicate and wonderfully perfumed flower has a very short season from April to May, but is worth it for that special something extra for your perfect wedding bouquet. Their fragrant flowers range in seven colors: white, violet, bluish, lilac, pinkish, magenta, and purple as well as bi-color “sensations”, and they come in single and double forms.

#5: Hyacinths

This beautiful flower has a delicate shape and color that goes beautifully alone or with roses or other flowers. While some think they seem a bit too old-fashioned and stuffy, in the hands of a good florist, you can have a gorgeous modern look! Above you see Princess Kate’s bouquet included myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William and hyacinth.
