Where To Get Married Wednesdays: Jamaica Destination Wedding
For a destination wedding that offers diversity, white sandy beaches, and tours galore, focus your attention on Jamaica! While researching your options for a destination wedding, note that Jamaica offers the least amount of ‘hassle’ in becoming man and wife…you and your groom simply need to arrive on the island 48 hours prior to your ceremony! (Just remember that all required documentations must be sent at least 60 days prior to arrival).
Jamaica has 4 diverse resort destinations – Negril, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and off-the-beaten path: Port Antonio. Your family and friends can plan to land in Montego Bay and enjoy an hour-long coastal drive to Negril or a 90-minute scenic tropical ride to Ocho Rios. If you plan to wed in Port Antonio, you’ll need to make arrangements to take a private air carrier once in Jamaica or simply fly straight to Kingston for a shorter traveling distance!
Remember, bride-to-be, just staying at a resort does not warrant you saying you have truly experienced Jamaica! If you are a nature lover, explore the rain forest by ziplining or board a catamaran and snorkel for a once in a lifetime view – just don’t touch that beautiful coral reef! There are an endless number of adventures for you and your guests to explore, from river tubing to horseback beach rides, climbing the falls to fishing, golfing to swimming with the dolphins!
Jamaica boast all-inclusive resorts for couples only, such as Sandals Resorts, as well as adults-only resorts, with options ranging from The Caves, Secrets Resorts, Jewels Dunn’s River Beach Resort & Spa, and Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Resort.
Planning a destination wedding with children involved? Your choices are endless! Choose between the luxurious Beaches Resorts, Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, RIU Resorts, Grand Palladiums (to name a few) and have the parents among you request a family suite. Looking for a simple and small boutique-style resort? Jamaica offers villas on the beach and cliffs with tantalizing views of the turquoise Caribbean sea!
